In the context of Covid-19 pandemic’s complicated developments, the provincial Steering Committee for Covi-19 Control and Prevention has just decided to cease all cultural, sports and riligious festivals and activities yet to be launched from April 30 to May 23 with a view to ensuring the safety and health of inhabitants and keeping the whole province safe in the new normal.

After May 23, the province will decide whether tourist festivals will be organized or not depending on the real situation of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Previously, the province planned to set off firework displays in five locations across the province and launch a variety of cultural, art and culinary events to boost local tourism on the occasion of National Reunification Day (April 30) and International Workers' Day (May 1). However, the rising number of new infection cases and fatalities in many countries, including those to Southwest of Viet Nam, can be seen as a sign of a high risk of potential resurgence of COVID-19. Therefore, the suspension of travel activities is of great importance in this time.
